Motherhood is a musical!

By |August 19th, 2011|Uncategorized|0 Comments

We all know that motherhood can be a song and dance but watching other people play out the role last Saturday was hilarious! I was dubious about going to see this production.  They claimed “From tantrums and tears to love and laundry, this sure-fire hit documents the madness and magic of motherhood through comedy and song.” […]

Taking the time to say ‘Thanks’

By |July 29th, 2011|Uncategorized|0 Comments

I recently had an article published in emPower magazine.  The title was Mother Coach. I wanted to write about the reason I want to combine my coaching skills with my motherhood experience.  I wanted to share the fact that you can control your experience (more often than not) and encourage the readers to stop and reassess their own experience. When you write for magazines you hope that you inspire and create a bit of noise about the topic so I was… […]

Free as a bird

I have had an internal battle going on recently that only another mother would understand. I have various ‘roles’ in life that require stimulation from time to time.  Some all the time. There is the role of me, mother, wife, friend, daughter and sister.  Then I am a coach, speaker, writer, colleague, mentor, business owner and employee.  The list goes on and on. […]

Walk away… walk away!

By |July 17th, 2011|Uncategorized|1 Comment

I am 5 months into my dance of motherhood. Evie is now 5 months and Jenson 2.2.  I have a night out.  On my own.  No children in sight for 20 whole hours! Excited?  Well if jumping around the lounge to Fat Boy Slim at 8am with my son was anything to go by.  Yep. I was fantasising for a whole week about having good quality wine, in a good quality venue, with great friends and hopefully get in some good quality (uninterrupted) sleep. […]

Evie had a little lamb…

By |June 23rd, 2011|Uncategorized|0 Comments

…it’s fleece was white as snow! One thing we have noticed while living over here is how babies had fleece in their strollers/prams…all year round.  In the UK the only place I would have seen them would have been as a rug on my parents carpet – perhaps as a feature rug, or on the animal itself! I even went as far as asking one woman in the Summer why she had a fleece…apparently they keep the baby cool in Summer and nice and toasty warm in Winter? […]

There’s a bit of noise going on in our house. For those of you that know me personally you know I can talk – Unanimous retort of ‘no really?’.   So it would seem that my little ones have taken after their mum! Little Lady at 4 months has started to sing when she wakes up and Little Man, who turned 2 last month, is using his words more and more. […]

Hibernating for Winter

By |June 10th, 2011|Uncategorized|0 Comments

Whoa! We have had an awful few weeks. When sickness strikes it can really hit hard. My little lady had her first cold and first cough which meant first real grumpy patch. My little soldier has experienced Bronchalitus, Tonsillitis and the Common Cold all in 6 weeks. I know, I know the joys of starting pre-school where the littlies not only share their tiny teddies and trucks but also their germs. […]

Escaping the prison that is 4pm

By |May 16th, 2011|Uncategorized|1 Comment

I had considered using a screaming image for this post. Or an Ejector seat. What is it about 4pm.  My children go wild.  Baby screaming for milk top-up.  Toddler screaming as it is fun and mum screaming Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Talk about needing to mix it up a bit.  It has to stop. Now. […]

What type of parent are you?

By |May 11th, 2011|Uncategorized|0 Comments

I read a lot of blogs.  Sometimes I read one that really connects with me.  Michael Grose’s Happy Kids is one such blog. This week’s blog refers to parenting types and running through the options I can identify myself.  I can also spot the ones I do not ever want to be like but in moments of weakness can be like.  I notice my friend’s parenting styles and that of my own upbringing.  Parenting is a tough job.
