From Beers with Peers to Succeeding at Leading…

By |February 14th, 2015|Career, Life|0 Comments

“Congratulations on your promotion! You’re now the manager! Off you go and keep up the good work!” Quite often that’s about as much direction and support you can expect having successfully landed the promotion you’ve been busily chasing ever since your predecessor packed his bags, or had his/her bags packed for them, or the business restructured presenting a new manager vacancy. […]

Mix it Up – a phrase for 2015

By |January 5th, 2015|Business, Career, Life|0 Comments

Nothing quite like a new year to bring on a whole new perspective to your life.  I asked on my instagram and facebook page recently what people’s focus would be in 2015. There were some immediate responses and others wanted to ponder on this for a while. My own was brought about after having had a word for a year previously… […]

Slice of ssshhh

By |December 22nd, 2014|Business, Career, Life|0 Comments

It’s that time of year again.  Can you believe we are here already?  I remember my parents commenting on how the years went faster as they got older and now in my 39th year I could not agree more.  I also catch myself saying things that my folks do too! There is something about this time of year.  Time for reflection, calm and a slice of ssshhh as my kids have come to know it.. […]

Reflection – checking your rear view mirror

By |November 26th, 2014|Business, Career, Life|0 Comments

When you are driving do you use your mirrors?  Do you check for oncoming traffic, see what may be approaching you from all angles?  Are you aware of the journey you have made so far? The reflection stage of coaching is a vital piece of the goal setting (and achieving) puzzle.  It enables you to see what ‘is really going on’ for you. Drivers that do not look in their mirrors could have accidents or setbacks that add further time to their journey. […]

Creating Boundaries – creating space

By |November 4th, 2014|Business, Career, Life|0 Comments

Who would have thought my new fence wood inspire this blog post – see what I did there!   For the 3 years we have lived in this property we have had our boundary exposed on one side of the house.  This meant that when sitting down for dinner we would have people take a short cut through our garden – hey  they may as well joined us at the table! Building a new fence means we have a fully enclosed wrap around garden now to both the back and side of our  house – but more importantly it has created a safe space for the kids to play in, a sense of space for us at mealtimes and a boundary people have to acknowledge. […]

Three years in business – the toddler years

By |September 16th, 2014|Business, Career, Life|0 Comments

ABC – easy as 1,2,3 right? YAY! I made it to three years – I think I feel the same about that as a mother as well as a business owner. Deciding to leave my job and fly solo when I had a one and three year old was a bold move but to then relocate to another City a few months after?  I perhaps did not anticipate how much change I was prescribing our family! I am proud to declare my business has reached those three-nager years.  I have worked with clients all over Australia and the UK and am so grateful to everyone that has chosen to work with me to achieve their goals. […]

A tag line – define your brand

By |September 13th, 2014|Business, Career|1 Comment

When we think of tag lines we normally think of companies.  Big name followed by tag line.  It helps them define their brand and relay their message to the masses. So I have been thinking about this a lot lately with both my business coaching clients and career coaching clients. What is your tag line?  How can the people you are meeting or interacting with, learn more about your brand in an instant. […]

Escaping Corporate Carnage

By |September 1st, 2014|Business, Career|0 Comments

There is a trend with my coaching clients right now. They are often women in their late 20’s early 30’s. They have worked for a business for a few years and climbed the ranks – quickly. Something is missing. They are feeling unfulfilled. They want to explore setting up their own thing – even if they have no idea what that thing may be. One thing is for sure – they want to escape the corporate role and responsibilities and dream of creating a job or career that is immediately fulfilling. […]

Job Seeking Pro – being Proactive to get Progress

By |July 11th, 2014|Career|0 Comments

Looking for a new job is hard.  You can easily get frustrated with the amount of effort you have to put into a job search. For those that are employed it has hard to have to put in additional time and hours and for those not working they are fed up with focusing solely on their search and often weigh up the time and resource for what appears to be very little return. When working with client’s the first thing I explore is how their job seeking falls into two camps – proactive and reactive job searching? […]

Qualities of a Coach

By |June 24th, 2014|Business, Career, Life|0 Comments

I recently ran a question through Linkedin about what things were important to consider when hiring a coach.  I was keen to understand what qualities were needed but also to understand the expectation of the person engaging in a coaching relationship. There were a few things that I expected to see listed but also a few surprises so here I thought I would help you consider what may be of importance before reaching out and getting in contact with me.
